Use any Bluetooth or USB barcode scanner with Xero for faster inventory management, purchase order receiving and stock control.
Xero itself doesn't have built-in barcode scanning, but any HID Bluetooth or USB scanner works as keyboard input in Xero's web interface — scan into the item code field exactly like typing. For full inventory scanning with Xero, use a connected inventory app (DEAR Inventory, Unleashed, Cin7 Omni or Katana) that integrates with Xero and supports barcode scanning natively.

For basic use — entering supplier invoice line items or checking inventory — any Bluetooth HID scanner types into Xero's fields directly. Click into the Item Code field on a Xero bill or invoice, scan the product barcode, and Xero looks up the item. This works immediately with any of our scanners, no configuration needed.
