Mobile Chip & PIN Card Readers & Payment Terminals
Portable, PCI-certified mobile chip and PIN card readers that pair with iPad, iPhone and Android POS apps.
Card-present payments require a PCI PTS-certified PIN entry device with EMV Level 2 contact, contactless and PIN capability — and that's exactly what a mobile chip and PIN device delivers. We supply Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connected card readers that pair with iPad, iPhone and Android POS apps, support chip, contactless, magstripe and mobile wallets, and integrate cleanly with all the major UK acquirers and gateways. They're compact enough to slip in a pocket, run a full shift on battery and replace the legacy fixed-line PDQ terminal on most countertops.
Key features
- Chip, contactless and PIN. EMV contact chip, contactless tap (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) and PIN entry on a tamper-resistant keypad.
- PCI PTS 5/6 certified. All terminals are PCI PTS certified — required for card-present payments under acquirer rules.
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Pair with your iPad or iPhone POS over Bluetooth, or run Wi-Fi for fixed counter use.
- UK acquirer integrations. Pre-certified with the major UK acquirers and gateways including Stripe, Adyen, Worldpay and Global Payments.
- All-shift battery. Typical 200-500 transactions per charge, with desktop charging cradles for the counter.
- Receipt and merchant copy. Print to a paired Bluetooth receipt printer or email/SMS the receipt direct to the customer.
Frequently asked questions
Which acquirer can I use?
We supply terminals that integrate with most major UK acquirers and gateways. We'll match the hardware to your existing merchant agreement — or refer a competitive one if you need it.
Is it really compliant to take payments on an iPad?
Yes — the iPad is the order-entry device but the PIN and card data only touch the certified PIN device. That's the standard architecture for modern mobile POS.
Can I take Apple Pay and Google Pay?
Yes — contactless tap is enabled by default, including mobile wallets up to the standard UK limit.
What if I lose signal mid-transaction?
Most terminals support store-and-forward with delayed authorisation — though we recommend pairing with a 4G iPad or hotspot for reliability.
What surcharges and gateway fees apply?
Terminal hardware is supplied separately from the merchant agreement, so you keep negotiated acquirer rates. We can introduce competitive acquirer/gateway partners if you'd like a fresh quote alongside the hardware.
What is the warranty and lead time?
Standard 24-month manufacturer warranty with optional 36-month extended cover. UK stock ships next day; fleet rollouts (50+) staged over 4-8 weeks with acquirer-side certification and per-site asset tagging.
