Ring Scanners

Finger-worn Bluetooth scanners that keep both hands free for picking and packing.

Ring scanners sit on the index finger and trigger from the thumb, leaving both hands free to grab stock, fold cartons or handle a customer. They pair to a wrist-mounted phone, tablet or wearable computer over Bluetooth and are the workhorse of modern warehouse picking, returns processing and high-volume despatch. We supply Generalscan and Zebra ring scanners with 1D and 2D imaging, swappable batteries and ruggedised triggers rated for hundreds of thousands of cycles.

Key features

Frequently asked questions

How long does a ring scanner take to learn?

Most pickers are at full speed within a single shift. Studies show 15-30% productivity gains over pistol-grip scanners on long picks.

Will it pair with our existing WMS?

Yes — HID mode works with any browser-based or native WMS that accepts keyboard input, and SDKs are available for deeper integration.

What happens to the battery overnight?

Batteries either charge in the ring directly via cradle, or are swapped out and charged in a multi-bay battery dock.

Can the scanner survive being dropped?

Rated for repeated 1.5 m drops to concrete and shocks from being knocked against shelving — standard wear and tear for picking environments.

How does it integrate with our existing rugged Android handheld?

Ring scanners pair to the same Android device pickers already wear or carry. The scanner exposes a wedge-style HID keystroke into the picking app, so no SDK changes are required on day one — and SDK-level integration is available later if you want event-level control.

What's the warranty and lead time?

Standard 24-month manufacturer warranty on the ring assembly and battery, with optional 36-month extended cover for fleet rollouts. UK stock typically ships next day; large rollouts staged over 4-6 weeks with pre-paired and asset-tagged kits.
