Manufacturing
Assembly line tracking, WIP scanning, component verification and GS1 traceability for UK manufacturers.
UK manufacturers need data capture that survives the shop floor and integrates cleanly with ERP and MES. We supply rugged 1D/2D scanners, fixed-mount imagers and UHF RFID for line-side WIP tracking, component verification, kanban replenishment and finished-goods despatch. Hardware ships pre-configured for SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor and bespoke MES platforms, and is built to handle vibration, dust, oil and the inevitable drop onto a concrete factory floor.
Key features
- Line-side WIP tracking. Pistol-grip and ring scanners for work-in-progress moves between stations, kanban replenishment and operator badge-in.
- Component verification. 2D imagers read Data Matrix and direct-part-mark codes on metal and plastic components to prevent wrong-part assembly.
- GS1 finished-goods traceability. Full GS1-128 and GTIN support for compliant outbound despatch into UK retail and export supply chains.
- Fixed-mount imagers. Conveyor and station-mounted imagers for hands-free verification on automated lines.
- ERP/MES integration. HID, SDK and OPC-friendly devices integrate with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor and bespoke MES platforms.
- Shop-floor rugged. IP65 sealing, 2 m+ drop spec and vibration tolerance for the realities of UK manufacturing floors.
Frequently asked questions
Can scanners read Direct Part Marking on metal?
Yes — our 2D imagers with DPM-tuned decoders read dot-peen and laser-etched Data Matrix codes on metal, plastic and ceramic components reliably.
Will the hardware integrate with our MES?
Yes. Most factories run our scanners in HID-keyboard mode into existing MES screens. For event-level integration we provide SDKs for Android, iOS and Windows.
Are these suitable for ATEX zones?
Standard industrial scanners are not ATEX rated. We supply ATEX Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22 certified handhelds and printers separately — talk to us if any of your scanning happens in a hazardous zone.
Can we get fixed-mount imagers for conveyors?
Yes — Honeywell, Cognex and Zebra fixed-mount imagers for in-line read-and-verify on conveyors and station feeds, with industrial Ethernet and PLC integration.
How do you handle multi-site rollouts?
Devices ship asset-tagged and pre-configured to your MES test instance per plant, with phased delivery aligned to your IT and operations cutover plan.
What lead times should we expect?
Standard rugged scanners ship next-day from UK stock. Fixed-mount imagers and ATEX-certified kit typically run 4-6 weeks.
