How long does a chip-and-PIN device run on a charge?
Our outdoor-spec terminals run 8-12 hours on a full charge — a full trading day. For longer events we recommend hot-swappable battery models and a small in-stall charging station.
Can we hire for a single event?
Yes. Short-term hire is available from 1 week. Standard packages include the chip-and-PIN terminal, charging dock, mounting accessory and consumable receipt rolls. Delivery and collection are included for UK mainland.
What about no signal on the field?
Most modern chip-and-PIN terminals support offline transactions for short signal outages — payment authorisations queue and process when signal returns. For deeper coverage gaps we pair the terminal with a 4G/5G router and external antenna.
Do you supply iPad/iPhone sleds for pop-up use?
Yes — iPad and iPhone POS sleds are popular for craft fairs and brand activations where the operator already has a tablet. Sleds add a built-in scanner and a card reader to the existing device.
What's the typical lead time?
Standard hire kit ships in 2-3 working days. Owned kit (chip-and-PIN, scanners, printers) ships in 5 working days. Sale of full pop-up kits configured to your specific POS app adds 3-5 working days for pairing and test.
